San Fran Eats
While in San Francisco we ate at 2 sit-down restaurants: The Tonga Room and the Burger Bar.
The first night we ate at the Tonga room and Hurricane Bar which is located in the Fairmont Hotel. This restaurant is set up with a Tiki theme and had huge cocktail bowls. Allie got 2 but wasn't really a fan of either...not that that stopped her from drinking them both with a little help from Dave.
Allie wasn't very hungry and is a self-proclaimed fussy eater so we just got some appetizers to share. But then Allie saw the dessert menu and well she had to have the novelty dessert that was a Coconut Creme Pie that came in a coconut shell (looking online at the menu and it doesn't appear to be on there anymore). She was at this point a little tipsy and sat the shell on Dave's head, he was not amused. When we left she may or may not have also attacked him in the hotel corridors...but I guess we will never know (it is not like there are photos or anything)...
The second night we ate at the Burger Bar located at Macy's in Union Square. Dave got a gluten free, dairy free birger and fries, while Allie as per usual was having a hard time deciding so got a slider meal that contained 3 different types of burgers. She also got a milkshake flight, and was expecting the glasses to be mini testing size but were all normal size and there were 6 of the, 2 of each flavour. Thankfully our friend was with us and she conned him into drinking 1 of each flavour. Unfortunately, Dave couldn't help due to his dairy allergy. One thing we rememebr about this restaurant is we were charged a healthy eating tax (or as we put it a fat-tax) that San Fran restaurants have to charge for unhealthy food.
