Universal Orlando Resort

For two days, we visited Universal Orlando Resort, 1 day for each of the 2 theme parks. The first day we spent at Universal Studios. The first area we headed to was Diagon Alley. Dave saw a few kids with wands creating spells and decided he just had to do it. We purchased wands and he went to work on his conjuring. We had seen the movies but wouldn't say we were die hard fans, but we really got into the spirit of things and even ended up purchasing robes. We convinced ourselves this was a good idea, even though it was costly as it was freezing out.

We then made our way to Springfield as Dave really wanted a Krusty Burger, unfortunately due to his gluten allergy he was unable to get fries and had to have a salad. Dave used to watch the Simpsons all the time so was quite impressed with this area.

At some point we headed back to Diagon Alley and Allie got herself a Butter Beer...she was not impressed. Dave conjured up a few more spells before we left the park.

We headed to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville for our dinner. A few cocktails were purchased to give Allie some liquid courage prior to tonights festivities at Universal Studios...Halloween Horror Nights. Allie had Coconut Shrimp and fries, while Dave had what looks like Fish and Rice (we are writing this well over a year and a half since the trip).

We didn't really take much photos at Halloween Horror Nights as it was too dark and crowded. We went into a few mazes which Allie was worried about being scared but she spent most of the time laughing at Dave who was easily startled. We also went and saw the Bill 'n' Ted show, this was advertised as the last year it was showing. Allie is a big fan of Keanu and the movies, but felt the show was just making jokes picking on the far superior theme park and entertainment mecca that is Disney.

The other Universal day, we spent at Islands Of Adventures. We went and rode Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey first and then headed to other areas of the park to explore. Dave had some fun with the photo opportunities in the Jurassic Park area and we lined up to meet a Raptor and while in line met a baby dinosaur that Dave tried to feed his breakfast too.

We also grabbed a few character photos in Seuss Landing, wearing the tops Allie purchased yesterday for her and Dave to wear (best boyfriend ever).

After this point, it was lunchtime so we headed to Mythos for our reservation. Dave got his own plate of bread that was allergy friendly. We can't remember what we got, but it appears based on the photo that Allie was not impressed with her dessert.

We then headed to Hogsmeade so Dave can practice his spell conjuring some more, Allie even got in on the action (hey, we paid a fortune for these wands and robes, we might as well make good use of it).

For reference: Allie is a Hufflepuff, while Dave is a Ravenclaw. You can easily figure out what house you belong to by doing an online quiz (we have linked two options below).
